- Added a Font Code Path setting and changed the default to Simple on slower machines. This was previously forced to Complex to allow ligature handling, but could lead to very poor performance when editing text, etc
- Fine-tuned redraw handling while editing text
- Updated EasyList AdBlocker data
- Updated libwebp to address its various recent CVEs
- Updated sqlite, nghttp2, curl and psl libraries

Wayfarer 6.3 is now out! Changes in this version include:

- Rewritten the audio decoder to use AHI's device interface
- Fixed a bug in the MSE media player where a video that's played till the end could not be replayed
- Fixed a regression when closing tabs
- Fixed a problem with media duration not being correctly reported to the HTMLMediaElement, leading to things like YT's seeking not working or Bandcamp not skipping to the next track
- Checks if Core web fonts are missing and runs WebFontsInstaller when prompted

Nach einigen Tests:
Es scheint ein gröberes Problem mit Youtube zu geben. Die Ladezeiten der Webseite sind unterirdisch und es schaut aus, als würde sie nie enden. Manchmal crasht das ganze System. Die CPU-Last ist immer nahe 100% und Videos werden als Slideshow abgespielt. Auf Morphzone wurde das bereits thematisiert - Jacad wird sich dem wohl umgehend annehmen. Bis dahin: Die V6.2 verwenden.

Der Fehler wurde mittlerweile gefunden und Jacad hat eine neue Version (V6.4) nachgeschossen - bitte diese zu installieren. Läuft nach ersten Tests prima!
So macht das Freude - danke Jacad!

Leider ist noch ein Problem aufgetaucht: Auf Seiten wie PayPal oder Ebay kann man sich nicht einloggen, da scheinbar Javascript wo hängen bleibt. Als Workaround, bis das behoben ist, geht folgendes (z.B. bei PayPal):

Seite ohne JS laden und Logindaten eingeben (Username, Password). Passwort noch nicht bestätigen (Enter)
Vor bestätigen des Passwortes (Enter oder Mauscklick) JS wieder aktivieren
Dann gehts wie gewohnt weiter.

Scheinbar läuft PayPal in einigen Ländern mit keiner der 6.x Releases - hier in Ö gehts bis zur V6.2 allerdings anstandslos.
Jacad hat jetzt einen Fix für V6.5 angekündigt.

Wayfarer 6.5 ist draussen:

- Updated User-Agent code, Safari is now the default user-agent on new installs
- Fixed a crash if ahi.device has failed to open
- Fixed a problem with AdBlock code blocking all requests if loading of its data has failed

Mal testen, ob jetzt alles wieder OK ist.......PayPal jedenfalls geht schon wieder.

Version 6.6 ist da!
Diese soll Probleme beim Einloggen bei z.B. PayPal oder Ebay beheben (keine Loginseiten sichtbar). Dies dürfte aber ein geografisches Problem sein, da dies hier in Ö auch problemos mit der V6.5 funktioniert hat. Jedenfalls schein das Problem im WebkitCore zu sein, weswegen die V 6.6 jetzt auf der Version 2.40.5 basiert.
Ich rate dazu die Wayfarer Version 6,5 zumindest als Kopie aufzuheben (genügt die Schublade vor update irgenwohin zu kopieren), da sie höchstwarscheinlich zu anderen Anforderungen in den Weiten des Netzes kompatibler ist. Wenn in eurem Land die V6.5 ebenso funktioniert, stellt sich die Frage ob man überhaupt updated.
Edit: Bin irrtümlich von einer Rückportierung auf eine frühere Webkitversion ausgegangen - ist aber nicht der Fall!

Wayfarer 6.6 is now available!

This version updates WebKit to WebKitGTK 2.40.5 (and is likely the last update before Wayfarer 7). This build also works around the issues with PayPal and improves performance on websites that abuse DOM timers (especially with throttling enabled in settings).

As always, please update via 'Check for Updates' functionality of Wayfarer.

Detailiert:

• Rebased to WebKitGTK 2.40.5
• DOM Timer throttling may now increase over time when enabled in settings
• Re-configured DOM timer intervals to improve performance on some websites
• Added a workaround for PayPal rendering issues

verwendet?

Nein. keines von beiden. Bei mir hat es ja kein Problem gegeben. Scheinbar ist der Zugang von USA und GB zu diesen Seiten anders - sie werden zwar geladen, aber dann nicht gerendert - man sieht nichts....

Wayfarer 7.0 is now available for download!

This is the 7th time Wayfarer was rebased to a latest stable WebKitGTK, meaning the MorphOS patches have been re-applied to a new branch. This release also marks the project's 4th anniversary.

This has been the most challenging update so far. Several new endian issues have crept into WebKit, with one of them causing an immediate crash when running JavaScript on big endian CPUs. The removal of some of the WinCairo port has also made it more difficult to maintain the MorphOS port. Many of the code paths that the MorphOS port is using aren't being used by the officially supported ports, which requires additional testing and bug fixing.

With this in mind, please show your support by donating to the project.

Version 7.0 is now available for auto-updating, which is the recommended way of installing updates. Please check the history page for the full list of changes in this release.


Allerdings scheint AmiSSL V6 dafür nötig zu sein. Das finde ich aber (noch) nirgends zum Download. Mit dem Update sollte daher noch etwas gewartet werden.
Hat sich geklärt - lag an meiner Installation! Einfach installieren und geniesen!

In V7.0 wurden ein paar Fehler gefunden, die Jacad "on the fly" gefixed hat und nun die V7.1 bereitstellt!!

Version 7.1 is available now!

- Rebased to WebKitGTK 2.42.3
- Fixed a network thread deadlock when resuming downloads
- Changed the '+' button to always adds tabs at the end
- URL bar would stay empty when moving a tab to a new window, fixed
- Selection redraw issues fixed
- Added Save Screenshot to the Debug menu
- Worked around and fixed reported crashes

Wayfarer V7.2 ist da. Es wurde auf den letzten Webkit-Kernel, welcher eben erst erschienen ist, angepasst. Dies scheint doch einige tiefere Änderungen nötig gemacht zu haben, weswegen Jacad schreibt:

Wayfarer 7.2 is now available, with the WebKit engine just 4 days behind the release of WebKitGTK 2.42.4.

2.42.4 addresses crashes in JavaScript, WebCore and several rendering issues.

Please update using the Check for Update & Autoupdate functionality built into Wayfarer.

Note: I've adjusted the maximum string length in WebKit to 64MB (from the original 2GB that makes no sense on 32bit architectures). While I do not anticipate problems, something might have broken. Do report if you find a site that worked OK with 7.1 but does not with 7.2.

Es macht also vorerst Sinn ein Backup der V7.1 anzulegen um in Problemfällen einen Vergleich zwischen den Revisionen zu haben. Jacad ersucht um Fehlerberichte, falls einer auftreten sollte. Grundsätzlich muss man schon sagen, das die Anpassung von Webkit auf unser System sicherlich kein nebenbei Spaziergang ist - in dem Sinn ist jede Unterstützung seitens der User wichtig.

Noch ein Hinweis: Nach dem Update musste ich einen kompletten Reboot machen, da Wayfarer zwar startete, aber keine Daten aus dem Netz lesen konnte.

Wayfarer 7.3 ist da - nur 3 Tage nach dem Release von WebKitGTK 2.42.5!
Da keine weiteren Releasenotes dabei sind, weiss ich nicht, ob sich sonst noch was geändert hat.

analogkid von a1k hat sich die Arbeit gemacht und sich die wichtigsten Unterschiede zur neuen Webkitversion angesehen:

Fix webkit_web_context_allow_tls_certificate_for_host to handle IPv6 URIs produced by SoupURI.
Ignore stops with offset zero before last one when rendering gradients with cairo.
Write bwrapinfo.json to disk for xdg-desktop-portal.
Fix gamepads detection by correctly handling focused window in GTK4.
Fix several crashes and rendering issues.
